Position Summary We are searching for a friendly, hardworking, self-motivated team player to join our team as a full-time Certified Pharmacy Technician. At MCSP Pharmacy Technicians play a foundational role in day-to-day operations by driving much of the workflow activities. Pharmacy Technicians are responsible for receiving and processing new prescriptions and refills, billing insurance when applicable, filling the prescriptions, managing inventory, providing customer service to walk-in patients, and providing back-up coverage to our customer service team for our phone system, among other tasks. The position requires an individual who is adaptable to changes in workflow and processes and collaborates well in a team environment. Excellent customer service is at the heart of an independent pharmacy, so a successful Pharmacy Technician will share this value. Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • PTCB National Certification

Key Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
  • Receives electronic and faxed prescriptions, weekly batches or refill requests and accurately and efficiently fills the prescriptions under the direction of the Pharmacist. Performs pharmacy tasks such as handling, counting, mixing, and packaging medications.
  • Uses pharmaceutical technician expertise to ensure compliance, efficiency, and quality of operations. Participates in company quality initiatives, recognizing opportunities for improvements and reporting quality assurance issues.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide detailed, professional notes in patient files. Secures information in accordance with the privacy and security guidelines of the Company and applicable regulations such as HIPAA.
  • Operate independently in MCSP’s prescription fulfillment system to complete patient orders with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Maintains proper storage and security conditions for the drugs. Cleans and helps to maintain equipment and work areas.
  • Receives, stores and logs inventory and returns (upon Pharmacist approval), verifies quantities against invoices, and informs supervisors of stock needs or shortages. Remains aware of expiry dates and rotates stock to avoid dispensing out of date products.
  • Promotes OTC sales of medications and specialized supplements.
  • Dress and interact professionally in an office environment.
  • Follow all company policies and address issues following appropriate chain of command.

Hours: Full-time employment for 5 days/week (M-F). This includes 8 hour/days and a consistent 40-hour work week. Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour, dependent on experience Work Location: In person

Position Summary MCSP is seeking an energetic, team-oriented pharmacist to join our growing operation in a full-time position. We generally have several pharmacists on duty sharing roles and dispensing responsibilities. The pharmacist will be primarily responsible for supervising technicians, dispensing medications, including compounded formulations, counseling patients on the use of the medicine, and advising physicians about medication therapy. Required Qualifications:
  • BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D Degree from an accredited educational institute.
  • Must be a licensed pharmacist in good standing with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy
  • At least 2 years of pharmacy experience including prescription filling and verification, records and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems and insurance.
  • Employment is contingent upon a drug screening test and background check
Preferred Qualifications:
  •  Sterile and/or non-sterile compounding experience is a plus but not a requirement
  • Experience with PioneerRx preferred

Key Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
  • Dispense prescribed medications, drugs and other pharmaceuticals for patient care
  • Take responsibility for ensuring the correct drug, dose, and directions are being dispensed to the correct individual and done in a timely manner. In addition, the staff pharmacist should maintain an overview of the pharmacy ensuring that patients are being waited on timely and courteously. The pharmacist should ensure that staff members know what job functions they should be always doing and be conscious of productivity, apparent job satisfaction, and interpersonal professional relationships.
  • Check patient records every time he/she gets a new prescription dispensed – evaluating drug interactions, apparent appropriateness of therapy based on the patient’s medical issues, therapies from other practitioners, compliance, etc.
  • The pharmacist should proactively make themselves available to speak to patients when any new prescription is dispensed to ensure that patients understand why they are taking the medications, how best to take the medications, and any cautionary information deemed appropriate about side effects and to ensure the best compliance and positive outcome of therapy.
  • The pharmacist should be available to counsel patients about MCSP’s therapies, general health issues, OTC medications, and nutritional supplement guidance.
  • Communicate with prescribers and their staff to ensure accurate and safe dispensing of prescribed medications. The pharmacist can offer suggestions and alternatives for therapy to the prescriber if it is requested or deemed appropriate or necessary. Considerations of patient affordability and compliance issues should be noted with prescribers as needed.
  • Become proficient with PioneerRx and PK Compounder software programs.
  • Improve compounding knowledge through continuous on-the-job learning, self-study, and continuing education on compounding as opportunities for training are offered.
  • Make reasonable efforts to assist patients with obtaining their insurance benefits for products and services provided.
  • Monitor reimbursements and ensure that reasonable gross margins are being paid by insurance and/or patients. Observe costs on generic drug and powders in regular prescriptions and compounded prescriptions as prices change. Discuss with management as needed and as observed.
  • Ensure that patient files are up to date, that needed products are ordered and inventoried at appropriate times, and stock levels are maintained for day-to-day operations. Also, be aware of computer or other equipment issues that arise and communicate with the administrative staff to ensure timely corrections/repairs.
  • Communicate with pharmacy management to ensure that management directions and intentions are followed through. Share with management any issues that need addressing.
  • Assist with any other duties needed to help MCSP fulfill its daily operations, priorities, Mission and Core Values.
Hours: Full-time employment for 5 days/week (no weekends) for approximately 8-hour shifts

We are looking for team members that share our Core Values: • Stewardship • Innovation • Synergy • Customer Service • Commitment to Quality Position Summary: The Call Center Representative is the primary point of contact between MCSP and the customers who we serve, and they play a vital role in facilitating patients receiving the treatments that they need through our call center system. This role is responsible for making outbound calls to the patients to educate them on the medication their health provider has prescribed and gather the necessary information to complete the prescription process. Additionally, the Call Center Representative will be responsible for inbound calls from those patients with questions on their medications or our process. The position requires an individual who works well both independently and in a team environment and has strong critical thinking skills. Our call center team members currently average 65+ calls a day while working together to monitor the text messages which is approximately 200 Inbound and 500 outbound texts each day.  In addition to hourly based pay, there are commission opportunities as well!  Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of previous customer service experience
  • Additional education or previous pharmacy experience is a plus
  • Bi-lingual is a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel)

  • Provide patient education as needed on MCSP’s products, shipping times, and insurance billing processes. 
  • Ability to adapt to fast paced environment 
  • Recognizes priority situations and understands when to notify appropriate parties
